Smoken Bones Cookshack is proud to present our very first writing contest:
"Your Best BBQ Memories"
As summer draws near, we wanted to harken back to the good old days of our youth. Nothing says summer and BBQ quite like the smell of smoke, sauce and fresh cut grass. But what special memories of BBQ do you have? Was it a long weekend spent camping in the summer heat with your parents and all their friends, eating corn and potatoes out of the fire? Was it a special night of good old fashioned, down and dirty rib eating on the deck with the sun setting in the evening sky? Or was it just a day you made the most wicked pulled pork imaginable and shared it with your besties?
Get wordy with us! Spin your tales and tell us your short stories on the subject of your best BBQ memories. On June 20th, we will be picking the best story from all the entrants and the winner will receive a dinner for two at the Shack. You'll get an appetizer, two entrées or a platter and a dessert to share along with our supreme respect for your mad writing skills!

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to all legal residents of Canada who are 12 years of age or older. The following persons and their dependents are not eligible to enter or win: employees of Smoken Bones Cookshack and the immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children).
HOW TO ENTER: The contest is open from 5PM PT on Wednesday, May 30, 2025 thru NOON PT on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. You can enter by emailing with the following information:
- Name
- Age
- Phone number
- Your short story
All entries must be received by Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at NOON PT.
HOW TO WIN: From all eligible entries received, Smoken Bones Cookshacks own culinary dream team will select their two favorite short stories. The winner will receive a dinner for two as stated above, and the Runner-up will receive a $25 gift certificate.
POSTING OF PRIZE WINNERS: Smoken Bones Cookshack reserves the right to announce all entries and the winners on smokenbones.ca.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY/RESERVED RIGHTS: Neither the Sponsor, nor the parent, subsidiary or affiliate companies, nor the promotional agencies shall have any obligation or responsibility with regard to (i) entries that contain inaccurate information or do not comply with these rules, (ii) entries, prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part, due to computer or technical error of any kind, (iii) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or (iv) any damages or losses of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize. The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Web Site or otherwise violating these rules. The Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if the contest cannot be completed as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any kind.
